U-Blot™ RIPA Lysis Buffer is a traditional, rapid cell and tissue lysis buffer. Its principle involves using surfactants to break down cell membranes (including nuclear membranes) and extract soluble proteins from tissues or cells. There are many variations of the RIPA lysis buffer, which can be broadly categorized into three types based on the strength of the lysis buffer: strong, medium, and weak.

Important Product Information
The protein concentration of the sample obtained by lysis with RIPA lysis buffer can be determined using the BCA protein concentration determination kit. Due to the high concentration of detergent, the protein concentration of the sample lysed with this buffer cannot be determined using the Bradford method.
To achieve the best results, avoid excessive repeated freezing and thawing. The buffer can be aliquoted for convenient use.
