Product details

Background:
Histone serine phosphorylation is a reversible modification regulated by kinases and phosphatases. Phosphorylation changes chromatin charge and recruits effector proteins to control chromatin assembly, DNA repair and cell cycle progression, with unique functions for each serine site. H2A Ser1 and H4 Ser1 phosphorylation are conserved N-terminal modifications. This mark is generated after DNA replication, participating in new histone deposition and nucleosome maturation. It also accumulates at DNA double-strand break sites to promote chromatin relaxation and repair factor recruitment.
