Product details
Background:AbFlex® antibodies are recombinant antibodies (rAbs) that have been generated using defined DNA sequences to produce highly specific, reproducible antibodies. Each AbFlex antibody contains a 6xHis Tag, a Biotinylation Tag for enzymatic biotin conjugation using the biotin ligase, BirA, and a sortase recognition motif (LPXTG) to attach a variety of labels directly to the antibody including fluorophores, enzymatic substrates (HRP, AP), peptides, drugs as well as solid supports. AbFlex® CDKN2A (p16) antibody was expressed as full-length IgG with rabbit immunoglobulin heavy and light chains in mammalian HEK293 cells. CDKN2A (Cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2A,is known as p16, CDK4I,MTS-1, p16-INK4 or p16INK4A) acts as a negative regulator of the proliferation of normal cells by interacting strongly with CDK4 and CDK6. This inhibits their ability to interact with cyclins D and to phosphorylate the retinoblastoma protein.
