Product details
Background:Histone serine phosphorylation is reversibly modulated by kinases and phosphatases. Phosphorylation alters chromatin charge and recruits functional proteins to regulate mitosis, transcription and DNA damage response, with distinct roles for each serine residue. H3 Ser10 phosphorylation (H3pS10) is a classic mitosis marker, strongly induced from G2 to M phase. It loosens compact chromatin to facilitate chromosome condensation and segregation. This modification also participates in gene transcriptional activation during interphase.
