Soaking the used membrane in a membrane regeneration solution for 5-15 minutes at room temperature effectively removes antibodies bound to the membrane without affecting the antigen protein. This allows for the subsequent use of different antibodies in the next round of Western Blot experiments, enabling multiple protein detections on the same membrane. Even when sample availability is not limited, this strategy facilitates repeated protein detections on the same membrane, saving on the expensive steps of reagent preparation, protein electrophoresis, and membrane transfer.
