Background:
Succinyllysine (abbreviated as Ksucc) is an acylation-type post-translational modification occurring on lysine residues of proteins. By covalently attaching a succinyl group to the side chain of lysine, this modification markedly alters the charge and physicochemical properties of amino acid residues.
