The production and degradation of endogenous proteins are generally balanced, maintaining stable protein content in cells under steady environmental conditions. However, in in vitro studies, protein synthesis ceases, while degradation is significantly enhanced, affecting overall protein yield. To address this, we recommend using a mixture of inhibitors composed of various small molecules to suppress protease activity and prevent protein degradation. Without the protection of a protease inhibitor cocktail, proteases present in the sample will degrade all proteins, including phosphorylated proteins.
U-Blot™ Protease Inhibitor Cocktail is a blend of five broad-spectrum protease inhibitors that effectively preserve protein integrity.
Application
Protease inhibitor cocktail is used in mammalian lysate or tissue extract to increase protein stability.
This product is suitable for Western Blot, Co-IP, pull-down, IF, IHC, kinase assay, and other experiments.

Important Product Information
- To accelerate the dissolution of the tablet in solution, briefly vortex it.
- Certain DUB proteases (e.g. ATAXIN-3) are not inhibited by common protease inhibitors, such as E-64, AEBSF, bestatin, leupeptin, and aprotinin.
