Tris-buffered saline (TBS) is an isotonic buffered saline solution widely used in cell and molecular biology. It is non-toxic to cells and serves as a stable pH buffer system due to the presence of Tris-HCl. NaCl in the solution ensures isotonic conditions, making TBS ideal for protein and nucleic acid extraction and purification.
Applications
