Product details

Background:
Nucleosomes consist of H2A-H2B dimers and H3-H4 tetramers. Core histones and histone variants maintain chromatin structure, genome stability and transcriptional regulation. Total histone antibodies detect unmodified full-length histone proteins for loading control and chromatin normalization in WB, ChIP and IF. H2AX is a DNA damage responsive H2A variant abundant in mammalian cells. Upon DNA double-strand breaks, H2AX is rapidly phosphorylated to initiate DNA damage checkpoint and repair signaling.
